The Index Sidewall Remover makes sidewall removal, one of the most overlooked and challenging ski sharpening steps, smooth and repeatable. Plus, the tool can be disassembled and the stainless steel angle doubles as a file guide and stone guide for sharpening edges.

Features

Dual use: sidewall remover & file guide

The Index Sidewall Remover also functions as file/stone guide when disassembled.

Cutter articulation fine adjustment

The cutter position over the sidewall is set with a smooth spring-loaded fine-threaded leadscrew for precise positioning. The position is locked with a set screw.

Cutter depth stop fine adjustment

Using the depth stop allows for light passes, reducing the possibility of chatter. The maximum depth of cut is set by the height of the bearing behind the cutter, adjusted by a spring-loaded thumb screw. A second thumb screw locks the bearing position for added stability during use.

Round or square cutter use

Materials

The Index Sidewall Remover and File Guide tool components are machined stainless steel and aluminum to create a precise and robust tool. The base is stainless steel so that it can double as a premium file or stone guide. The removable gold Sidewall Remover components are machined from 6000 series Aluminum and anodized for durability.
